Bangladesh National Awami Party (Bangladesh NAP) has greeted Bangladesh Awami League on the occasion of the ruling party’s 72nd founding anniversary that takes place today (June 23).
In a congratulatory message issued on Tuesday (June 22), chairman of Bangladesh NAP Jebel Rahman Ghaani and its secretary general M Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan expressed their heartfelt congratulation to the Awami League on the occasion. The two leaders also congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is currently leading the oldest political party of Bangladesh, and other leaders and activists of the party.
They also paid rich tributes to Awami League’s founder president Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, founder general secretary Shamsul Haque, the party’s former presidents Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, Maulana Abdur Rashid Tarkabagish and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who played a vital role in establishing Awami League as a historic political party.
Jebel Rahman Ghaani and Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan said that Awami League has huge contribution to the nation. The party led various epoch-making movements, including the Bangladesh War of Liberation. “We hope that the party would be able to lead the nation to more progress in future,” they said.
Bangladesh Awami League was established on June 23 in 1949.
