Published : 23 Nov 2020 08:39 PM

The country’s  direct-to-home service AKASH DTH is now available on installment. Initially, IFIC Bank's `IFIC Shohoj Account’ customers can purchase the DTH connection with this facility.

Beximco Communications informed, the offer will continue from Sunday (November 22) to December 31. By opening an `IFIC ShohojRin’ account or their existing account holders can now buy AKASH Basic and AKASH Regular with 8 months of AKASH lite subscription through a 12 months installment. In that case AKASH Basic customers will pay BDT 578 per month and AKASH Regular customers will pay BDT 622 per month.

Customers can primarily avail AKASH DTH by getting `ShohojRin’ from 30 branches and sub-branches of IFIC Bank. AKASH is hopeful of launching such services later in rest of the branches of the bank and with other banks as well.

Head of Marketing & Business Development Mr. Muhammad AbulKhairChowdhury of Beximco Communications said, “AKASH has become popular in urban as well as remote areas of the country and among low-income people. We are trying to keep the connection and monthly subscription price as low as possible. Yet the initial connection cost is difficult for many to pay at once.

Therefore, this new opportunity has been created under the `ShohojRin’ of IFIC Bank so that the customers can buy AKASH DTH in easy installments on easy loans. Following this facility, a large number of subscribers will be able to view TV with quality pictures and sound.

AKASH DTH, the country’s only legal DTH service provider, started to provide its service using the feed of the Bangabandhu satellite-1 from May, 2019. The one-time price of AKASH Basic and Regular connection is BDT 3999 and BDT 4499 respectively.

In both the connections, more than 120 channels are available with a monthly package subscription of BDT 399 and more than 70 channels with a package of BDT 249. AKASH connection is available at 8000+ retail outlets throughout the country in all 64 districts.
