Agri-inputs distributed among farmers in Manikganj

Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) distributed seeds and fertilizers at a cost of Taka 1,66,50,000 among 16700 small and marginal farmers in the all seven Upazilas of the district for cultivating maize, mustard and groundnut and sesame, reports BSS. 

The DAE sources said each of the famers received seeds for one bigha of land. They also were given adequate amount of fertilizers for cultivating these seasonal crops, they added. Of the total 6000 bighas of land were cultivated maize, 9000 bighas of land mustard, 300 bighas of land groundnut and 1500 bighas of land sesame. 

A total of 334 metric tons of Di-ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and 167 metric tons of Muriate of Potash (MoP) were distributed among poor famers in the district. Md. Habibur Rahman Chowdhury, Deputy Director of the DAE, said list of small and marginal farmers of the district were prepared by respective union level committee for getting the agri-input.
