Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) distributed seeds and fertilizer for the crop Kharif-2 free of cost among 500 farmers of Shibganj upazila in the district on Thursday.
As part of the agricultural incentives the seeds and fertilizer were distributed among marginalized farmers for cultivation of the crop in the district, the DAE sources said.
Each of the farmers got 5 kg of Maskalai seeds, 10 kg of DAP fertilizer and 5 kg of MOP fertilizer, they added. The agri-inputs were given at a simple function held on DAE office premises with the Shibganj upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Chowdhury Rawshon Islam in the chair.
Local lawmaker Dr. Shamil Uddin Ahmed Shimul attended the function as the chief guest while chairman of Shibganj upazila parishad Syed Nazrul Islam attended it as special guest.
