Awami League (AL) Liberation War Affairs Secretary Advocate Mrinal Kanti Das on Saturday said the next generation will be benefited if the lists of Freedom Fighters (FFs) and Razakars are published flawlessly.
The AL leader was addressing a meeting of the AL’s Liberation War Affairs Subcommittee at the AL president’s political office at Dhanmondi in the city, marking the party’s 21st council scheduled for December 20-21.
“We joined the Liberation War being inspired by the 7th March speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and liberated the country through a nine-month-long war,” Mrinal Kanti said.
But, there is still controversy over the list of freedom fighters although the 50th anniversary of the independence is knocking at the door and there is no list of Razakars in the country.
The subcommittee Chairman Md Rashidul Alam presided over the meeting attended by, among others, AL Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap and the subcommittee member and Whip Iqbalur Rahim.
In his speech, Rashidul said AL and pro-liberation forces are tied in a single string. So, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s hands should be stronger to foil all conspiracies to take the country forward, he added.
