At least nine officials and employees of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) were suspended and five others served show-cause notice over corruption allegation, reports BSS.
Mayor of GCC Md Jahangir Alam revealed this at a press briefing at the Nagar Bhaban on Tuesday morning. He said among the 14 accused officials, six of them were suspended, three temporarily suspended while the remaining five were served show-cause notices in connection with alleged irregularities.
The mayor said departmental action will be taken against the officials and employees who are involved in irregularities and corruption.
The mayor put emphasis on ensuring improved and hassle-free services to the city dwellers.
