7 organisations of port users demand immediate arrest former ACC DD

Seven organisations of Benapole port users have issued a seven-day ultimatum for arresting a former deputy director of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Ahsan Ali. If Ahsan Ali is not arrested within seven days, business organisations across the country will announce strict programmes, they warned.

Seven organisations issued the ultimatum at a meeting in Benapole on Thursday.

Assistant Commissioner of Benapole Customs House Uttom Chakma said that Ahsan Ali, a godfather of Viagra smuggling, has threated to commissioner Belal Hossain Chowdhury and other Custom House officials.

His own invested and managed companies Ritu International and Z. H Corporation has been tried to dodging revenue of Tk 2 crore 2 lakh 5 thousand. When he failed to dodging the huge revenue, Ahsan Ali engaged in retaliatory action against the commissioner of Customs.

He also tried to releasing 2.5mt viagra on July 28, which is detain by the customs authority.

Revenue officer Bilal Hossain, convener of the Customs and VAT Association of Benapole Customs House, said that on December 25, an advocate named Shahadat Hossain (whose name was not found) submitted huge false allegation against the commissioner Belal Chowdhury to the ACC . He also distributed it to hundreds of offices and media.

Alhaj Nuruzzaman, senior vice president of Benapole C&F Agents Association, said that for businessman it was urgent to take necessary measures and arrest former DD , ACC Ahsan Ali immediately.

If Ahsan Ali is not arrested within the next fifteen days, strict programs will be given at every customs house across the country he added.
