Police have arrested seven men in separate cases filed over the incidents of rape and violating children in Savar and Ashulia, outskirts of capital Dhaka. The arrests were made during a drive from Thursday night to Friday morning. Saiful Islam, Oc (Investigation) of Savar Model Police Station, and Ziaur Rahman, Oc (Investigation) of Ashulia Police Station confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Post.
Ziaur Rahman said two separate cases filed with Ashulia police station on Thursday, bringing allegations of gang-raping a woman, and to violating three children in Ashulia.
Police, later, have arrested the five among seven, after the woman filed a case regarding this connection.
The arrestees are, Saiful Islam, 18, son of Mohammad Sheikh, hailed from Srirampur village under Razapara police station of Rajshahi district, Pappu Saha, 19, son of Krishna Saha, from Rustampur area of Ashulia, Milon, 22, son of Manaranjan Saha, Jatirmay Saha, 19, son of Sanaton Saha, Antor, 20, son of Adom Sarker, from the same area in Ashulia.
On other hand, Police have arrested a man named Helal Uddin, 57, for allegedly raping three children including 2 twin sisters, at Tayabpur area of Ashulia on Octber 6.
Police rescued the victims and sent them to Dhaka medical college hospital for examination. Besides, Police also arrested another man, Jiyarul Islam, 35, son of Khaliluddin, hailed from Rangpur district, for allegedly raping his 12-year-old daughter.
Saiful Islam, Oc (Investigation) of Savar model police station said, the incident took place at Namagenda area in Savar, on last Monday (5th Oct) and the arrest was made on Friday.
