The administration of seven government colleges affiliated to Dhaka University (DU) has taken initiative to check the ability of general students to conduct the final examination online.

Coordinator of seven colleges (Focal Point) and Dhaka College Principal Professor IK Selim Ullah Khandaker said that the issue of online examination will be informed to DU authority after verification of the ability of the students.

He further told the media on Tuesday that various departments of seven colleges have already started working as per the instructions.

He said, "All the colleges have been given the responsibility to know the views of the students about taking the exams online. Once they inform us, we will send specific proposals to DU based on the information provided by the colleges." He added, "As seven colleges are affiliated to DU, there is no opportunity to take exams on the basis of a single decision. As DU is our academic authority, the procedure for taking exams will also be decided by them." The activities of seven government colleges have been closed for a long time due to the pandemic of coronavirus.

This has created a session jam.

On 16 February 2017, Dhaka College, Eden Women's College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Begum Badrunnesa Government Women's College, Government Bangla College and Government Titumir College were subdivided into DU. Since then, the admission process, examinations, educational activities and publication of results of the students of the colleges have been conducted by DU.
