Police on Tuesday recovered around 600 liters of distilled wine by conducting a drive at Noakhali para area of Hemayetpur in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital. Two people including a woman were detained in this connection as well.
Md. Jahidul Islam, In-charge of Tannery outpost of Savar model police station confirmed the matter.
The detainees were identified as Vishon Chakma, 28, Fency Chakma, 27. Police ensure that both were hailed from Rangamati district.
Jahidul said they conducted a drive at a high-rise residential building based on secret information, and found around 600 liters of distilled wine after searched into a flat on 1st floor of that building on Tuesday evening. As well as they detained two people in this connection.
“A case has been filed with Savar model police station regarding the matter”, Jahidul added.
