6 women get sewing machines marking Bangamata’s birthday

Six distressed women received sewing machines from Chattogram district administration on the occasion of 90th birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib.  

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chattogram Mohammad Elias Hossain handed over the sewing machines to six needy women on Saturday.

On this occasion, a discussion program of the Prime Minister and other negotiators was shown through a video conference broadcast from Dhaka at the beginning of the program held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's Office.

Speaking as the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Elias Hossain said, Bangamata was not only Bangabandhu's wife but also a comrade-in-arms. He has spent his life in sacrifice and struggle.

He said Bangabandhu had to spend most of his time in jail. And because Bangamata was a worthy wife and a majestic woman, she was able to educate her children well and make them human beings.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Mohammad Kamal Hossain, Additional District Magistrate Badiul Alam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) AZ Sharif Hossain and other officials of the district administration and women's affairs officials were present on the occasion.
