6 Bangladeshis detained from Moheshpur frontier

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained six Bangladeshi nationals including four women and a child when they were allegedly entering in to Indian territory through Moheshpur frontier in Jhenaidah on Sunday evening.

BGB 58 (Khalishpur) battalion additional director Mehedi Hasan said the six were detained from a field at Tangailpara. 

The detainees were identified as Kallol Ghosh, 40, son of Paddalal Ghosh of Damodarpur, in Phultala of Khulna, Mousumi Begum, 40, daughter of Jamal Seikh of Pargendaria in Subhadda in Keraniganj of Dhaka, Banya Khatun, 19, wife of Dulal Seikh of Mohammadpur of Kishoreganj, Nargis Begum, 40, wife of Sazib Hossain of Khorlia in Kalia of Narail. Sazib’s 7 year old son Bishad and Sima Khatum, 27, daughter of late Mahiuddin of Bhaaaluka in Mymenshingh.

The BGB sources said the border guards having information had detained the six when they failed to produce any paper following their move towards neighboring India. 

They (BGB) filed a case with Moheshpur police station as per the passport act of 2003 and handed over them to police for producing them in court for proceedings.
