A Dhaka court has placed five more people on three-day remand each in a case filed over the lynching of a woman in Badda, Dhaka.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Tofazzal Hossain passed the order on Thursday, after Badda police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Razzak, also investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court with seven-day remand pleas.

Badda police arrested the five accused--Sohel Rana, 30; Raju Ahmed, 23; Murad Hossain, 22; Md Billal, 28 and Md Aksadul, 22-- on Wednesday night, for their suspected involvement with the lynching. As of now, police have arrested 13 people for their alleged connection with this case.

On July 20, Taslima Begum Renu was beaten to death by a mob in Dhaka's North Badda over rumours of being a kidnapper. Nasir Uddin, nephew of Renu, filed the case with Badda police station against 400 to 500 unidentified people.
