5 projects to change shape of Cox’s Bazar

Cox’s Bazar Municipality has taken up five large projects to be kicked off within a short span of time. With the final approval of the ministry concerned, the work for implementation of the projects will be started, informed Mujibur Rahman, Mayor of Cox’s Bazar Municipality.

It is learnt, already e-tenders of the projects have been invited to start the development works under Municipal Governance and Services Projects(MGSP). Mubjibur Rahman, further said, if everything goes well, works of implementation of the projects are likely to start within next one and a half months. He said, ‘I took the charge just one-year ago and within this short span of time, I have implemented development works worth nearly Taka 2,000 million (200 crores) which includes the construction of roads and drains.’

Mayor  Mujibur Rahman further mentioned according to the willingness of Prime  Minister Sheikh Hasina, he was designing Cox’s Bazar as a unique tourist city of the country because she always thinks of Cox’s Bazar and dreamt to fabricate Cox’s Bazar as one of the best tourist attractions of the world. So, her dream should be dream of all us and we should work to realise her dream with utmost sincerity and devotion.

Meanwhile, tenders for construction of five more roads have been floated under MGS projects. The works include RCC road construction, drain and pavement construction and setting up of street lights.

Nurul Alam, Executive Engineer of Cox’s Bazar Municipality informed, development works worth Taka 870 million will be started within next one to one and a half months.

Meanwhile, people of Cox’s Bazar said, shapes of most areas of Cox’s Bazar will be changed with the implementation of the projects. They requested Mayor Mujibur Rahman to complete the development works by maintaining quality.
