Another 5.4 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine purchased by the government from China have arrived in the country.
Officials said a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the jabs arrived at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 2am on Saturday.
Officials of Directorate General of Health Services received the vaccine at the airport. The jabs were then sent to Beximco Pharmaceuticals’’ depot in Tongi.
Bangladesh earlier received 8.1 million doses of Sinopharm vaccine – 1.1 million as gifts and the rest under purchase agreement.
