42 detained in DMP anti-drug drive


The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has detained 42 people in the last 24 hours in anti-drug operations in different police station areas of the capital.

They were detained on Saturday (October 24) from 8 am to 8 am on Sunday (October 25).

Sunday (October 25) at noon, Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations (DC) of the DMP Md Walid Hossain confirmed the matter.

Md Walid Hossain said, “6,553 pieces of yaba, 86 grams of heroin, 6.78 kg of marijuana, 30 injections and 155 bottles of phencidyl were seized from the detainees.”

He added, “33 cases have been filed against the detainees under the Narcotics Control Act at the concerned police station of DMP.”
