A total of 360 members of the Village Defense Party (VDP) of Pirgachha upazila in the district got foodstuffs as relief on Monday afternoon in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, reports BSS.
Pirgachha Upazila Ansar-VDP Office distributed the foodstuffs in an informal function arranged maintaining physical distance on the Ansar-VDP Development Bank office premises in Pirgachha upazila town.
Each of the male and female VDP members form all unions of the upazila received a sac containing five kg of rice, two kg of potato, one kg each of pulse and edible oil and one piece each of mask and soap in the function.
With Pirgachha Upazila Ansar-VSP Officer Farzana Kader Shumi in the chair, Pirgachha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jasmine Prodhan and District Ansar-VDP Commander Md. Ziaur Rahman attended the function.
