Police arrested three members of a fraud group 'Jiner Badsha' during a raid launched in various areas under Bakalia Thana of the port city on Saturday.
The three arrestees are - Md. Saiful Islam, 31, Md. Mukhtar Rahman, 27, Shipon Chandra Mohanta, 29. They were from Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha.
“The trio was arrested for duping a woman into paying them Taka 4, 71000,” M. Nezam Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Bakalia Thana, told to media.
However, there are more members in this circle. They use various tactics to collect phone numbers and phone them at night. They fix the target, after obtaining information about family members and relatives, and then frighten them to pay, OC also said. OC also said that the raid is going on.
