Bangladesh registered three more deaths from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am Thursday. The total number of deaths has reached to 27,986 with the latest figure.
The country recorded 261 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,576,827, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday.
The current positivity rate stands 1.24 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.43 percent.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.78 percent in the country, added the release.
Of the three deceased, one was male and two were females. The deceased were from Dhaka, Khulna and Rangpur.
A total of 21,057 samples were tested across the country till 8am Thursday. Some 313 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,541,661 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.77 percent.
As of Thursday, some 5,245,545 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 263,915,368 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
