21,040 more children get Covid-19 jabs in Rangpur

More 21,040 children aged 5-11 years were vaccinated with the first doses of Covid-19 jabs in Rangpur division on Sunday.

“Besides, a total of 6,526 children aged 5-11 years were administered with the second doses of Covid-19 jabs on Sunday,” Acting Divisional Director (Health) Dr Habibur Rahman said on Sunday.

 So far, a total of 17,21,082 students aged 5-11 years of 4,924 primary level educational institutions have been administered with the first doses, and among them, 40,584 with the second doses of Covid-19 jabs in the division. Meanwhile, the number of administered Covid-19 jabs rose to three crore 46 lakh 80 thousand and 97 with the inoculation of a total of 36,646 doses of the jabs as the first, second and booster doses on Sunday.   

 “Till Sunday, a total of 1,54,00,797 people got the first doses of Covid-19 jabs, and of them, 1,33,05,720 got the second doses and 59,73,580 as the booster doses,” Dr Rahman said. The number of Covid-19 patients remained steady at 64,948 as no fresh Covid-19 cases were diagnosed after testing 32 new samples on Sunday in the division.

The number of recovered Covid-19 patients remained steady at 63,621 as no more patients healed during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am on Monday. “Besides, the number of casualties also remained steady at 1,293 as no new death was reported from the division during the last 24 hours,” Dr. Rahman said.
