200 skilled youths provided employment

About 200 unemployed young men and women of six Jheniidah upazilas were provided suitable job following a daylong job fair held at the government technical training centre (TTC) in Jhenidah on Thursday. Organized by TTC, additional deputy commissioner (revenue) Salim Reza inaugurated the fair as chief guest.

Later a discussion meeting was held at the TTC premises with its principal Rustam Ali in the chair, rapid action battalion commander additional superintendent of police Masud Alam, ex principal of Nurunnahar government women’s college NM Shahjalal, assistant director of manpower and employment office Sabita Rani Majumder among others attended as special guests.

Human Resources administration of Standard group Ashraful Alam, Zaman Jute diversified mills limited manager Abul Bashed among others spoke. The speakers urged upon the entrepreneurs, especially well to do establishment owners, to employ the trained and skill manpower in their enterprises to ensure jobs for the unemployed men and women.

They said finding no suitable jobs, several lakh young men and women have been leaving the country selling out their properties. In many cases, they have been returning home empty-handed which has been affecting the national economy. Further, the women community had to suffer a lot due to unethical relation forcibly conducted by the foreign employers. It will save them a lot, they said.

TTC principal Rustam Ali said 14 companies like Pran, RFL group, ACI group and Standard group had demonstrated their stall in the daylong job fair and recruited above 200 youths from all the six upazilas of the district for their companies who were trained and skill in various trades from the centre.
