Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 arrested a top terrorist with his associate from Shanti Nagar area of Joypurhat district town on Monday morning.
The RAB members also recovered a foreign pistol, five rounds of ammunition and one magazine from their possession. The arrestees were identified as Sheba Kumar Das, 35, son of late Shawpon Kumar Das of Shaheb Para area, and Rabbi Hassan, 24, son of Belal Hossain of Bulupara area of Joypurhat town.
Commander of Joypurhat camp of RAB-5 MM Mohaimenur Rashid confirmed the matter. He said that Sheba Kumar Das is an active member of Kadamati Group. Sheba Kumar Das is accused in about 10 cases filed with different police stations on the charge murder, snatching, weapons and theft. Drug equipment were also seized from the spot, he added.
