2 Natore students killed in Kerosene stove explosion

Recently two female students of Nawab Siraj-ud-Dowla Government College burnt to death caused by explosion of kerosene stove.

Shamima Khatun, 19, daughter of Sohrab Mondol of Gopinathpur of Gurudaspur Upazila and Sanjida Akter, 18, daughter of Sahabuddin of Abdullahpur of lalpur Upazila died at Dhaka Medical College Burn Unit on Tuesday while undergoing treatment. Shamima died in the night, while Sanjida died in the morning.

Principal of the college M Shamsuzzaman confirmed the matter.

Shamima and Sanjida were second year students of the college and living in a private hostel at Borogachha area of the town.

They sustained critical burn injury when kerosene stove exploded at the time of cooking food on June 27 night.

With 60/65 percent burn injury they were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. As their condition was deteriorated they were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Burn Unit on Tuesday.
