Two more union parishad chairmen have been suspended for alleged irregularities in cash aid disbursement and relief distribution among destitute people amid the coronavirus outbreak, reports UNB.
With these, so far 102 public representatives were suspended since the outbreak.
According to a notification of Local Government Division (LGD) issued on Sunday, so far 32 UP chairmen, 64 UP members, a zila parishad member, four municipality councilors and a upazila vice-chairman were suspended.
LGD issued a notification today suspending two UP chairmen.
The suspended are — Md Arifur Rahman Chowdhury, of 11 no Khorddokomorpur union parishad of Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha district and Badsha Faisal of 2 no Alipur union parishad chairman of Doshmina upazila in Patuakhali district.
