2-kg gold bars seized

Border Guard Bangladesh men in a raid seized a total of 18 gold bars weighing 2.1kilograms worth Tk 92,40,000 from a field along Gatipara frontier under Benapole port police station on Sunday afternoon, stated a press release issued by Lieutenant Colonel Selim Reza, commanding officer, 49 Border Guard Battalion.

The press release also stated that the gold bars were seized in an abandoned condition. The gold bars were being taken to India according to secret information received by BGB. None was detained in this connection. A case was filed with Benapole port police station.
