Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in two separate anti-crime drives arrested two alleged drug peddlers with 1.1 kilograms of heroin in Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj districts on Monday night.
The arrested persons were identified as Abdur Rahman, 27, son of Mukhlesur Rahman of Char Kodalkati village under Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj, and Muhammad Shahin, 30, son of Anarul Islam of Diar Manikchalk village under Godagari upazila in Rajshahi district.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in his residence around 3.15 am and arrested Abdur Rahman with 600 grams of heroin red-handed.
Another RAB team conducted a sudden raid in the house of Shahin around 3.30 am and arrested him with 500 grams of heroin.
The arrested persons along with the seized contraband goods were handed over to the police.
Separate cases were recorded with the police stations concerned in these connections.
