2 held with 18,000 Yaba pills

Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) Station Teknaf and St. Martin conducting a joint operation in St. Martin island,  arrested two people with 18,000 pieces of yaba tablets on Sunday.

Theoperation took place at Balur Char in Sagarpara area adjacent to Cheradwip of St. Martin Island under Teknaf Police Station of Cox's Bazar.

Sensing the presence of Coast Guard members a group of yaba dealers who were buying and selling yaba at the spot tried to flee. Coast Gueard members held Md Selim, 37, and Md. Jabed, 29, chasing them while fleeing.

Later, 18,000 pieces of yaba were seized from the possession of the detainees, that were found inside shopping bags. The detained yaba traders and the seized yaba have been handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station for further action.  

Bangladesh Coast Guard has adopted zero tolerance policy against piracy, robbery and drug trade and will continue to conduct regular operations in the areas covered by the Coast Guard to ensure law, order and public safety.
