2-day innovation showcasing begins in Rangpur

The two-day Divisional Innovation Showcasing-2020 kicked off today in Rangpur city with the exhibition of the digital innovations for reaching all services to the peoples’ doorsteps without difficulty, reports BSS.  The divisional administration is organising the event at Zila Parishad Community Centre showcasing 26 innovations demonstrating various digital innovations and e-services at the stalls set up by all eight district administrations of Rangpur division.

Divisional Commissioner KM Tariqul Islam inaugurated the event by releasing balloons on the Zila Parishad Community Centre premises and addressed a discussion meeting in the launching ceremony as the chief guest. With Additional Divisional Commissioner Md. Zakir Hossain in the chair, the

discussion meeting was addressed among others by Deputy Inspector General of police, Rangpur Range Devdas Bhattacharya, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Alim Mahmud, Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) Abu Taher Md. Masud Rana and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Mohammad Abdul Latif as special guests.

The innovation showcasing event is being held to sensitize and establish a bridge between common people with information and communication technologies (ICT) and reach government services easily to their doorsteps to further accelerate the digitization programme.

The chief guest said digitization is progressing encouragingly to achieve the esteemed successes of building a corruption- free digital Bangladesh where people would easily get all services at their doorsteps. He suggested officials to work with innovative ideas to build a middle

income digital nation by 2021 and developed country by 2041 to realize the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by establishing a Sonar Bangla. Md. Zakir Hossain discussed objectives of the innovation showcasing, successes already achieved in implementation of a2i Programme and Vision 2021 to attain sustainable development goals for further speeding up national development.
