Covid-19 in Bangladesh

2,024 new cases, 32 deaths in a day

Bangladesh on Sunday registered 2,024 new cases of coronavirus and 32 deaths when 1,315 patients recovered from the disease.

During the 24 hours till 8am, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in a press release said 10,018 samples were tested in 87 labs across the country.

With that, the number of confirmed patients rose to 276,549 with 158,950 recoveries and 3,657 deaths.

The recovery rate is 57.48 percent while the death rate is 1.32 percent.

Of the total tested 13,51,666  samples so far since January, 20.20 percent came out positive for the virus.

Among the latest deceased, 25 patients were male and seven were female.

One was between 31 years and 40 years old, three were within 41-50, nine between 51-60, and 19 above 60 years old.

Fourteen of them were from Dhaka, six from Rajshahi, three each from Barishal and Chattogram and two each from Sylhet, Rangpur and Khulna.

Thirty-one of them died in different hospitals and one at their respective residences.
