Today (Friday) marks the first death anniversary of the maestro Ayub Bachu. The legend passed away on this day last year leaving behind hundreds of his friends, family members and relatives and fans. Well popular among his fans known as AB for his romantic and rock songs the legendary singer, guitarist, and songwriter Ayub Bachchu died on October 18, 2018.

Born in Chittagong, he started his music career there with the band Feelings in 1978. From 1980 to 1990, he was a member of Souls as lead guitarist and finally in 1991, he formed his own band, LRB or “Love Runs Blind”. LRB released its first album as a double album in 1992, which contained hard rock songs like "Madhobi" "Hoker" "Sesh Cithi keno amon Cithi hoy" "Happy" and "Dhakar Sondha".

Ayub Bachchu made his debut in the music industry by giving voice in the song 'Harano Bikiler Golpo'. In 1986, he released his first music album 'Rakto Golap'. His success story began when his second album 'Moyna' was released. He rose to fame by releasing his third album 'Koshto' in 1995 and the album was a super hit.

From creating one of the most timeless soft-rock masterpieces, Cholo Bodley Jai, switching his guitar tone to overdrive for the heavy metal-esque Shahbagh Mor, or just simply capturing the masses with his pop venture Ek Akasher Tara Tui, Ayub managed to embed his own style in Bangladeshi music.

Bachchu was the son of Haji Mohammad Ishuque Chowdhury and Late Nurjahan Parvin. He grew up in the port city of Chittagong, in a joint family, surrounded by cousins, aunts and uncles. He has started his music career from his birth place Chittagong with the band Feelings in 1978. Then he joined the band Souls in 1980, one of the pioneers in the band music movement of Bangladesh.

In 1991 AB left Souls after 10 long years of practice for perfection and formed LRB (Love Runs Blind). AB launched LRB from the deepest of his impulse, it's something beyond high devotion for music. LRB started to play in live concerts in the following years and soon earned name and fame. Millions of music loving people accepted their music with affection.

LRB believed in self-criticism, in the salvation of their souls. That is why the entity and the band remain unparallel in selection of their music. LRB performed more than a thousand concerts at home (500+ open air & 2000+ indoor) and abroad. They went for their first international tour in the US and they performed in at 7 US states. LRB is the only Bangla Rock Band which played their music in the famous Madison Square Garden (New York).

In Europe the band played its first show in Austria in 2002. They also performed at Wembley Arena (London), Alan Garden (London) Frankfurt of Germany, Fort Canyon Park stage (Singapore). LRB also performed at many stages of India i.e. Salt Lake Stadium (Rock Jugalbandi Part 1 and 2), Science City Theater, Alpha Bangla, ETV Bangla, Najrul Manch, Rabindra Shorobor, Guru Nanak University (Jodhpur), Haldia Utshab and at Durgapur University. LRB proudly performed in Qatar, UAE, Hong Kong, Cyprus and many other countries.

AB had a great appearance with Richard At Legang (France), Remo Fernandez Nandon Bugchi & Bikmar Gosh of India, Azam Khan, Miles & Black of Bangladesh. AB was honored in IIM Joka 'Rock Fest' (India), Benson and Hedges Star Search 1 and 2, DRockstar 1 and many other local competitions as a Judge.
