15 stolen computers of BSMRSTU still unrecovered

Although more than a month has passed, 15 computers stolen from the Central Library of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University of Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) could not be recovered yet. It was not immediately clear who was involved in the theft.

SI Mizan, the investigating officer in the case filed by the university, said, “The remaining 15 computers could not be recovered.  However, our investigation continues."

Earlier, after arresting seven people in connection with the theft, Additional Superintendent of Police (Circle) Md. Sanwar Hossain said,"The arrested accused had named the instructors. “But about a month later, no one was arrested.  The names of the instigators were not disclosed by the district police at that time for the sake of investigation.

The investigation committee formed on behalf of the university submitted the investigation report on September 6, but no action has been taken so far.

BSMRSTU registrar Nuruddin Ahmed said, “We have informed the disciplinary board about the investigation report.  But the disciplinary board has not yet asked for an investigation report. ”

Mentionable, 49 computers were stolen from BSMRSTU Central Library during the Eid-ul-Azha holiday.  Later on August 14, 34 computers were recovered from a residential hotel in Dhaka.
