15 researchers to be awarded by BAURES

A two-day long annual research progress workshop with a theme ‘Transforming Agricultural Research for Achieving SDGs’ of Bangladesh Agricultural University Research System (BAURES) will begin on Saturday morning. On the inaugural session, Prime Minister’s International Affairs Adviser Prof Dr Gowher Rizvi will be addressed as chief guest on the workshop.  On the inaugural session 15 researcher will be awarded with ‘Global Research Impact Recognization Award’ on the basis of h-index.  

BAURES Director Prof Dr Abu Hadi Nur Ali Khan said this on a press conference held at BAURES conference room on Friday morning. In written statement, BAURES Associate Director Prof Dr Mahfuzul Haque said, 536 research paper will present on the workshop. Among which 324 oral and 212 poster paper will be presented. Six best poster presenter will be awarded with crest and certificate. 

Farm level 3 farmer will be awarded with ‘Professor Dr Ashraf Ali Khan Memory Award’ he added. On the inaugural session of the workshop, Prof Dr Richard W Bell of Murdoch University of Australia will present the keynote paper. BAU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Lutful Hassan will be addressed as chief patron while Pro-VC Prof Dr Md Jasimuddin Khan, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC) Dr SM Bokhtiar and BAU Teachers’ Association (BAUTA) President Prof Dr Farida Yeasmin Bari will be addressed as special guest on the program.

Noted that, BAURES was established on 30 August, 1984. Since the establishment, BAURES completed 2349 research project.
