Security has been beefed up in International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) area in the capital city of Dhaka on Sunday morning as 13 army officers, accused in two crimes against humanity cases involving enforced disappearances under the Hasina‑led regime, have been brought there.
They are set to be produced before the court.
They were brought to the court premises in a green air conditioned prison van at 9:57am. Later, they were taken to the ICT lockup.
The officers are expected to be produced before ICT‑1 for the second day, as per the schedule.

The tribunal sent 15 army officers to jail and ordered related authorities to publish notices in two dailies to summon the other accused, who are on the run, before the court.
The prosecution formally charged 28 people, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 23 current and former top‑ and mid‑ranking army officers, at ICT‑1 in the two cases.
According to the charges, 14 detainees were allegedly confined and tortured in the cell between 2016 and 2024.
The second case centres on the Joint Interrogation Cell (JIC), run by the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), where 24 individuals were allegedly detained and tortured between 2016 and August 2024.
The tribunal issued arrest warrants against 30 accused, including the 23 retired and serving army officers, on October 8 after taking cognisance of the formal charges against them.
