12 Jhenaidah houses vandalised

Twelve houses in Madhupur village of Jhenaidah Sadar upazila was allegedly attacked, vandalized and looted by rivals on the night of Thursday. To avoid further tense the local police station had deployed law enforcers in the village.

Locals and eye-witnesses said there was a long time rivalry between local Union Parishad Chairman Shaihidul Islam Hiron and Gias Uddin. Supporters of both the groups were locked in quarrel in the evening. 

Later the supporters of Hiron decamped with local and sharp weapons at about 11pm had swooped on the supporters of Gias and started attack, vandalize and looting rampantly. 

They had looted the and vandalized the houses of Gias Uddin’s supporters Sabed Mir, Abdullah, Feroj, Noor Islam, Masud Hossain, Batul, Abu Hanif, Sultan, Matiar Rahman, Nantu. The attackers also vandalized and looted the shop of Kamal.  Cow, goat, paddy and pigeon could not be escaped from the slap of the attackers, affected family members alleged.

Jhenaidah police station officer in charge Mijanur Rahman when contacted, said they had deployed police men in the area to avoid further tense and attack.
