Prime Minister and AL President Sheikh Hasina will start her election campaign after paying rich tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara on December 11.
Sheikh Hasina will travel from Ganobhaban via Munshiganj to Tungipara on road.
She is scheduled to address an election grand rally in Khulna the same day. Later, Sheikh Hasina will return to Dhaka via Manikganj where she will also address another rally.
All the leaders of AL-led grand alliance have been asked to call upon the people including the young voters to cast their votes in favour of the candidates of pro-liberation forces, to keep intact the spirit of liberation war and ideology of the Father of the Nation.
As part of the election campaign ‘Bijoy-Mancha’ (stage of victory) will be built at upazila and district levels across the country on the Victory Day of December 16 to inspire the people with the spirit of Liberation War and make them aware against the war criminals and anti-liberation forces.
Besides, songs, dramas and cultural programmes on the Liberation War will be organized from 3pm to 8pm every day from December 16 to December 28 at the Bijoy-Manch across the country.
From the Mancha, the people will be urged not to vote for Jamaat, rajakars, Al Badrs, war criminals and those who killed innocent people hurling petrol bombs and their supporters.
The party also decided to hold a rally at the Shahbagh square on December 15 at 3pm and later the participants will go towards Dhanmondi number 32 in a procession to pay tributes to Bangabandhu.
The ruling Awami League (AL)-led Grand Alliance has already completed preparations to seek votes in favour of pro-liberation forces.
The party has already formed 40 thousand 199 committees based on polling centres at all 300 constituencies.
About 150 to 200 leaders have been included in the preparatory committees. These committees have been formed comprising district and upazila leaders of AL and its grand alliance.
The committee members have been assigned to uphold the development work implemented by the AL government before the people.
And they have also been asked to go to people’s doorstep and make them understand ‘who wants to do good for the people and who wants to indulge in violence, killings and corruption’.
Apart from the partymen preparations, the AL-led-grand alliance is also planning to field all liberation forces including freedom fighters to woo voters.
Besides, massive preparations have also been made to hold grand rallies at ten divisional headquarters.
