Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will again hold talks with the political parties she spoke to before the 11th parliamentary election, said Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Sunday.
Quader came up with the comment at the AL office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the city, prior to a meeting with leaders of the party’s four district units.
Various issues, especially post-election situation, are likely to be discussed during the fresh dialogues.
“She (Sheikh Hasina) wants to hold meetings with the political parties which were invited for dialogue before the December 30 national election,” he said. Replying to a query, he said the political parties will be invited to Ganabhaban through letters.
“I can’t tell you when the dialogues will begin. But I can certainly say the talks are going to take place very soon,” Quader said.
“Issues relating to latest development of the country’s political arena will be discussed during the talks. We will again request the BNP to join the parliament. And thus we can renew our relations with the party.”
Although AL senior leaders are not in favour of fresh dialogues but Sheikh Hasina has decided, by dint of her political wisdom, to hold dialogues with the political parties again, according to party insiders.
Earlier, before the December 30 general election, Prime Minister and AL President Sheikh Hasina sat with all political parties including BNP-led Jatiya Oikyafront.
