Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday expressed deep shock at the death of former parliament member and ex-president of Rajshahi district Awami League Tazul Islam Mohammad Faruk, reports BSS.
In a condolence message, the PM prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
Faruk, the ex-MP from Rajshahi-5 (Durgapur-Puthia) constituency, died of a heart attack at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Thursday evening. He was 70. His first Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Divisional Stadium in Rajshahi city on Friday morning.
He was buried at Amgachhi village under Durgapur upazila after the fourth and last Namaz-e-Janaza at his village.
Mayor of Rajshahi AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Eng Enamul Haque, MP, Dr Monsur Rahman, MP, Dr Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul and scores of people including political and professional leaders joined the namaz-e-janaza and burial rituals.
