With the slogan, ‘Education for every Manik’ and after earning fame abroad, the movie ‘Pathshala’ has finally been released in Bangladesh on this Friday. The movie is about a 10 year old street child Manik and the tale of his life’s struggle and achievements. The movie has been directed jointly by Foisal Roddi and Asif Islam. After being premiered in film festivals in Germany, Canada and India, the movie as released in Dhaka and Chattogram on Friday.
‘Pathshala’ is a story about friendship, expectations and achieving the elusive dreams. Due to circumstances, a young boy named Manik has to leave school. To earn a livelihood, he comes to Dhaka. He gets a job in a vehicle chop-shop. After all the day’s hard work at the shop, Manik still dreams of going back to school one day. To fulfill his dreams an eight year old girl named Chumki comes forward.
Produced by Redmark Productions, the film casts child artist Habib Arinda in the role of Manik and Ima Akther Kotha as Chumki. The other cast members include Nazmul Hussain Raju, Farhana Mithu, Rumi Huda, Gazi Faruq, Taufiqul Imam, Amirul Islam Babu and many more.
