An old man during family conflict was killed at Ashuganj in Brahmanbaria. This incident happened on Saturday afternoon at Kholapara village of the district.
The deceased was identified as Abdullah (65), son of late Kafayet Ullah of the village. According to the police and witnesses, Abdullah had a land dispute with his cousin Haroon
Mia, 55, son of late Lahat Ali, for a long time. On Saturday afternoon, Abdullah was going to take a bath. At that time, Harun put some obstacles in front of his house, triggering an altercation between the two. At one stage, Harun pushed Abdullah to the ground and hit his stomach with a stick, killing Abdullah on the spot.
Ashuganj Police Station Inspector Mejbah Uddin Ahmed said the police recovered the body and sent it to the district Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Harun went hiding after the incident. Necessary action would be taken after getting the autopsy report.
