Aiming at promoting disaster resilient business continuity plans and building a digital platform of disaster risk information, a workshop of National Resilience Programme (NRP) – Programming Division was held at NEC in Dhaka on Thursday.
Md. Ziaul Islam, senior secretary, Planning Division was present at the workshop as the chief guest and Prashanta Kumar Chakraborty, chief, agriculture, water resource and rural institutions division and Md. Khurshid Alam, assistant resident representative, UNDP Bangladesh were present as special guests.
Syeedul Haque, chief of programming division of NRP chaired the session.
The workshop is planned to introduce Disaster Impact Assessment (DIA), promoting knowledge on disaster informed development and enhance capacity of planning officials for screening disaster and climate risks of development projects.
Dr. Nurun Nahar, deputy chief and project director of NRP –Programming Division part presented the action plan of the project jointly funded by Government of Bangladesh, DFID and SIDA while UNDP will act as technical partner of the project.
