The Cabinet will have no technocrat members from Dec 9, says Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday.
“The resignation letters of the technocrat ministers have been submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). It is only the prime minister who has the right to extend or reduce the size of the cabinet,” he told journalists in Chunnura Dighi Madrasa area in Kabirhat upazila of the district.
Quader is AL’s pick for Noakhli-5 (Kabirhat-Companiganj) constituency in the Dec 30 election. Referring to the attack on BNP headquarters, Quader blamed the party for trading nomination papers with its activists.

He said the aspirants who have been deprived of nominations from BNP, attacked the BNP office.

There is no allegation against Awami League regarding nomination business, he added.

He said BNP candidates of the area of Barrister Moudud Ahmed violated the electoral code of conducts. He (Moudud) submitted his nomination forms with his followers carrying sticks, he added.

Zilla Parishad Chairman Dr ABM Jafar Ullha, Kabirhat Municipality Mayor Jahirul Haque Rayhan, Upazila AL President Nurul Amin Rumi, AL leaders Dr AKM Jafar Ullha and Albax Titu, among others, were present on the occasion.
