The second National Vitamin A+ Campaign will start on Jan 19, 2019 in Chandpur, just as all over the country. ‘Vitamin A feeding, minimizing risk of infant mortality’ will be the slogan in the National Vitamin A+ Campaign 2nd Round.
This year, the aim of feeding vitamin A+ capsules in Chandpur has been fixed at 3,21,176 children. Among them, 35, 959 children are between the ages of 6 months to 11 months and 2, 85, 200 children are of 12 to 59 months of age.
It is also known from Chandpur Civil Surgeon’s office that this year the National Vitamin A + Campaign was organized by 2,300 centers.
In addition to health-care workers, 3,483 Scouts, Rover Scouts, Cultural Cemeteries, Rotaracts and other volunteer members are responsible for the voluntary drive. The Civil Surgeon’s Office also conducted the work of 5th- 1st-grade center’s supervisor.
Vitamin A+ capsules have been provided to the children in remote areas of Chandpur. There is also a special system for feeding capsules of children in Launch Ghat, Steamer Ghat, Bus Station, Railway Station etc.
In fact, according to doctors, Vitamin A protects children from malnutrition, increases childhood immunity, decreases diarrhea and complications and reduces risk of infant mortality.
