A nine-member delegation of Border Guard Police of Myanmar visited Benapole land port to observe how Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India jointly manage border there.
“We showed them how trade and other activities are managed here. The toured the border area,” said BGB Khulna Sector coordinator Major Abdul Hannan.
“We also briefed them about how our ICT centre functions,” he added.
The delegation went back to Dhaka Tuesday after visiting Mongla port, Hannan said.
The team came to Dhaka on Jul 9 to attend the Bangladesh and Myanmar border forces’
annual conference and took the opportunity to learn about Bangladesh-India border
Bangladesh and Myanmar also share a common border of less than 300 kilometres.
