Police recovered the body of a gold trader, chopped in five pieces,
from a septic tank of a house at Amlapara in Narayanganj city on Monday night, 21 days after
his missing.
The deceased was identified as Probir Ghosh, owner of Bholanath jewellery shop at Kalirbazar area in the city. He went into missing on June 18.
Police in a press briefing on Tuesday said that Probir Ghosh was killed by his friend and also adjacent jewellary shop owner Pintu Debnath and associate Babu.
In the briefing, Md. Moinul Haq said that they arrested Pintu Debnath and Babu, who are friends of Probir Ghosh.
Police claimed that the arrestees primarily admitted their involvement in the killing. According to their confession, police recovered five pieces of the body.
According to police, Probir was killed by his friend in his flat and they made slice packed in a sack kept in a septic tank which recovered after twenty one days of missing.
The body was sent to morgue for autopsy and a murder case was filed in this connection with Narayanganj sadar model police station.
