The first gold medalist of the 59th International Mathematical Olympiad in Romania, Ahmad Jawad Chowdhury and the bronze-winning mathematical team has received a reception from the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Science and Technology Museum.
This reception was given on July 24.
Science and Technology Minister Yeafesh Osman was present as chief guest in the ceremony.
National Professor Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, president of the Mathematical Olympiad Committee, Ministry of Science and Technology secretary Md Anwar Hossain were also present.
Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology Professor Saiful Islam and Prof Mohammad Kaikobad attended as special guests.
Science and Technology Minister said the achievement of Bangladesh’s gold medal in Mathematics Olympiad proves that the young generation of this country is very meritorious. They will take forward this country and will turn it into golden Bengal of Bangabandhu.
He also said the Ministry of Science and Technology will provide all types of cooperation to the mathematical Olympiad and Biological Science Olympiads.
Director General of the National Science and Technology Museum, Swapan Kumar Roy presided over the ceremony.
On the occasion, the gold medal winner of the Mathematical Olympiad Ahmed Jawad Chowdhury, Bronze medalist Jaydeep Saha, Tamzid Morshed Roubab, and Tahinik Noor Samin, Honorable Mentioned Rahul Saha and Soumitra Das received the reception.
The Minister of Science and Technology distributed crests, prize bond and certificates among the winners.
