Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have announced a 13-member BCB XI squad for the practice match against Windies yesterday naming Mashrafe Bin Mortaza as the skipper.
The West Indies Cricket team will play the preparatory match against the BCB XI on December 6. Caribbean’s will get a chance to make preparations before the three-match ODI series.
Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe, who wants to get back into the flow of things as he prepares for the Windies ODI series at the BKSP on December 6 against the visitors, hoping to get some much-needed match practice before the ODI series against the Windies, scheduled for December 9.
Mashrafe will lead BCB XI in this match. In addition, Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes will be seen in the match. Both will return to the injury with the match.
Tamim is making a comeback into competitive cricket after injury had sidelined him for the series against Zimbabwe and the Test series against the Windies.
Tamim got a wrist injury in Asia Cup and missed the entire Asia Cup. Then he missed the Zimbabwe series. He has desire to return to the West Indies was. He was also preparing for that. But the left-handed opener suffered a side strain injury.
Meanwhile, due to shoulder injury, Imrul is not playing Dhaka Test against West Indies. Imrul, who is in great form in limited innings cricket, will also return to the ODI series. He gets an opportunity to ward himself in the preparation match before he gets to the field. The BCB also considered young prospects like Shahin Alam and Mithun Joy in the squad.
