Cricketers Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Shakib Al Hasan want to get Awami League (AL) tickets to contest the December 23 parliamentary elections.
Mashrafe, captain of One Day Internationals for Bangladesh will buy nomination form to contest from Narail while Shakib, captain for Test and T20I formats will buy nomination paper to contest from Magura.
“They (Mashrafe and Shakib) will collect nomination forms from AL president’s Dhanmondi political office tomorrow (Sunday), Biplob Barua, deputy office secretary of AL told reporters on Saturday.
He said on behalf Mashrafe and Shakib, AL leaders communicated with AL president’s Dhanmondi political office.
“They will come to AL president’s Dhanmondi political office on Sunday at 10am,” he added.
According to sources, Mashrafe and Shakib on Saturday talked to AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader over cell phone.
