Rangpur Riders skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Dhaka Dyna­mites skipper Shakib Al Hasan were at their brilliant best for their respective teams in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. Both the skippers played a pivotal role for their respective teams as both Rangpur Riders and Dhaka Dynamites won.
In the day’s first match between Dhaka Dynamites and Khulna Titan’s, ace all-rounder Shakib was brilliant with the bowl. Earlier, Dhaka posted a mammoth total of 192/6 in 20 overs. Shakib however, didn’t perform well with the bat as he was out for duck. However, in the second innings Shakib made amends of his batting debacle and performed brilliantly with the bowl. He bagged three wickets in 3 overs and gave away only 18 runs as Khulna Titans were dismissed for just 87, giving Dhaka a comprehensive victory of 105 runs.
In the second match of the day between Rangpur Riders and Comilla Victorians, Mashrafe stole the limelight as he took all four wickets of Comilla Victorians top order. He was pivotal as Victorians were all out for 63 in 16.2 overs. In his four over spell, Mashrafe took 4 wickets giving away only 11 runs with 1 maiden over as well. Rangpur won the match by 9 wickets.
