MAN Energy Solutions (MAN ES) celebrated the opening of its first MAN PrimeServ Workshop in Bangladesh. Around 150 customers and guests of honor attended the formal inauguration ceremony, which was followed by a gala dinner in a city hotel in Dhaka on July 10th.
MAN PrimeServ is the company’s after sales brand and operates a vast network of customer service centers all over the world.
The celebration was graced by Thomas Prinz, German Ambassador to Bangladesh, Wayne Jones, Executive Board Member and Chief Sales Officer of MAN Energy Solutions, Alexander Stöckler, Senior Vice President MAN Energy Solutions, and Stefan Eefting, Senior Vice President MAN Energy Solutions.
“Bangladesh is a strategic market for us”, said Wayne Jones. “We currently are equipping 10 power plants with a combined capacity of more than one Gigawatt – all of these are orders were received within the past one and a half years. We are very proud to be a trusted partner of the energy industry in this rapidly developing country.”
In Bangladesh, MAN ES does not only offer power plant solutions but also marine engines, turbochargers and turbomachinery including gas booster compressors and steam turbines. “Given our strong engagement in Bangladesh we are excited to announce that our PrimeServ workshop facility is ready and fully functional. It enables us to offer a higher service level to our local customers and to react quicker to their needs. And of course it increases the domestic content of the added value.”

With the introduction of a new corporate strategy the company recently gave up its former ‘MAN Diesel & Turbo’ name to rebrand as ‘MAN Energy Solutions’. The new branding embodies a strategic and technological transformation, a process the company had already begun back in 2017 by implementing its new strategy for the future: to expand its business with sustainable technologies and solutions such that they become its main source of revenue by 2030.
