With the aim to promote innovations, diversified teaching methods, and discover new life and the world through dramatization, the department of Theater and Performance Studies, University of Dhaka, is going to stage ‘Macbeth’ in the capital today. Directed by department professor Israfil Shahin, eight exhibitions of the show will also be held on 10, 11 and 14 October. Vice-Chancellor, University of Dhaka will inaugurate the programme.
Professor Israfil Shahin said, “Our lives, our country, the perils of our world have been exposed in a non-temporal language of Shakespearean space-time, in the political psychological drama like ‘Macbeth’.
What we do and the collision of our moral values, that is, both in action and in the mind, is that of Macbeth. This is the fate of human beings.”
Each exhibition of the play holds 85 seats.
